According to The Blast, the World’s currently most popular French bulldog, which was known for playing Stella on Modern Family, has died. Stella’s real name was Beatrice, and she was introduced in season 2 when Jaz Pritchett got a dog. Unfortunately, the end of the series was also the end of the road for the Modern Family’s French bulldog. Stella has died a week ago, just couple of days after Ariel Winter, Sofia Vergara and Ed O’Neill finished filming the last episodes.
Modern Family’s French bulldog was adored all around the Globe
Fans of the Modern Family sitcom enjoyed watching Stella acting a wide range of behaviors and how she always looked to put her skills to the test. She even knew how to skateboard. We don’t know if you know the following fact, but Beatrice was not the original dog that played the role of Stella. Brigitte was the first dog that got the ‘play’ and then secretly in 2012, producers replaced Brigitte after a fallout with the dog’s owner. Since Brigitte didn’t sign a contract, her replacement passed in silence.
Beatrice took the spot in the 4th season and carried on with Stella’s character until the end of the sitcom. Stella was 7 years old when she started to ‘act’ in the Modern Family sitcom and she succeeded to respond to different roles. This is just one of the facts that proves how intelligent French bulldogs actually are. The personality of this Frenchie used to thrill everyone on the set and especially Ed O’Neill. The Beatrice’s owner, Guin Solomon said that ‘It is so easy to work with Ed because he brings Beatrice treats like popcorn and always looks out for her.
Ed had a special relationship with Beatrice so her owner was surprised by how he used to care for her. ‘We’ll be doing scenes in the backyard by the pool and in between takes he’ll say, ‘Would you please get Beatrice an umbrella, she’s in the sun!’” Guin said.
When the Modern family’s French bulldog passed away, actors decided to post messages to say goodbye to this marvelous dog. “Rest in peace, sweet Beatrice,” tweeted Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Jay’s son Mitchell on the ABC sitcom. “We love you so much.”
You have crossed the rainbow bridge. Rest in peace.
